Room: Hotel Room
Trend: Standing point
About the room:
Shades of brown with blue. Traditional, brutal, respectable. Stable furniture, textured materials, traditional patterns, clear structures. An atmosphere that gives a feeling of reliability, stability and confidence.
From the very beginning, I conceived the "hotel room" as an homage to the famous series of Firmdalehotels in London, whose interiors were created by Keith Camp, a designer for whom fabrics in interior design are the principal thing! And the giant bed headboards are varied, unforgettable and forever associated with Kit. I wondered what it could be, this headboard around which all the play in this room would revolve?...
Since we are in the capital of Russia, Moscow, a point of attraction for artists and designers, meetings with whom I always associate with joy, I decided to take motifs from the paintings of Aristarkh Lentulov, nicknamed "the painter of the sun", whose famous picturesque panels of so-called architectural landscapes: "Moscow", "The Ringing", "St Basil the Blessed" delight with their sound, sunshine and originality. The domes of churches and bell towers from the picturesque works of Aristarkh Lentulov suggested the form of the headboard - the shape of an onion. Inspired by traditional national wooden paintings, textile artist Elena Ponomareva from St. Petersburg created the fabric for the headboard using her own technique. She draws, cuts and embroiders fabrics to make wonderful appliqués for clothes and bed headboards and decorative pillows. Lentulov's architectural paintings are comparable to folk tales, looking at them, one would like to begin: "In a certain kingdom, a certain state" ... Childhood favourite fairy tales are a point of support in our rebellious world, and in a "hotel room" you can briefly hide from the anxieties of reality, immersing yourself in the world of dreams.... There is nothing better than lying in a luxurious bed with satin sheets and plump pillows. The composition of the room is completed by Mollen bed linen made of high quality cotton, which provides a silky smoothness and will make you feel that you are safe, peaceful, calm.... Velvet curtains absorb sounds, shut you off from the world to rest and find stability.
